Tony Canadeo left the Green Bay Packers to
help the American cause in World War II. A year earlier, Canadeo
helped lead the Packers to their first NFL title since the 1939
season. Canadeo returned for the 1946 season, finding himself
positioned mainly in the halfback slot. Through hard work and
determination, Canadeo excelled at the halfback position. In
1949, Canadeo became the third back in the history of the NFL to
rush for over 1,000 yards. Canadeo was enshrined in the Pro
Football hall of Fame in 1974. |
